(AUSTIN) – DK Consultants LLC is sponsoring a series of workshops to teach interested persons on how to effectively conduct and prepare Chain of Title Assessments (COTAs), which are used by attorneys in foreclosure defense in determining case issues for potential use in the development of quiet title actions. This is a non-CLE course, open to all that have any kind of legal or real estate acumen or even to homeowners that have conducted previous substantive research.

Dave Krieger, paralegal, investigative journalist and author of the book Clouded Titles will be teaching this two-day course, which has been scheduled for the following locations:

  • July 14-15, 2012 Comfort Suites Austin Airport Austin, Texas
  • July 28-29, 2012 La Quinta Airport South Las Vegas, Nevada
  • August 18-19, 2012 Country Inn & Suites O’Hare Airport NW Chicago, Illinois

Sign up to attend at www.cloudedtitles.com. These workshops are being offered to a limited number of attendees, which will receive the following:

  1.  A COTA Workbook, which contains all of the relative definitions, applications, research tools, robosigning and document markers, sample assessments and affidavits;
  2. A copy of the book Clouded Titles, which can be shipped to the attendee prior to their attending the workshop to gain advanced insight as a supplement to their training; and
  3. A CD-ROM packed full of current case law, articles, white papers, research material and state-specific resources (including notary handbooks for many of the U.S. States) and other ancillary material necessary to conduct exhaustive searches and prepare effective summaries.

There will be additional use of audio-visual applications to aid in the attendee’s learning experience; plus, Mr. Krieger will be teaching marketing techniques for use in business start-ups and existing marketing firms will be on-site conducting attendee interviews for future independent contract work performing chain of title assessments. The information received in this seminar can also be applied in public service, such as in real property records offices and title companies. The title insurance industry currently has many openings for title examiners.

Dave Krieger has taught continuing legal education courses on this subject matter (Texas Bar Approved) in addition to guest lecturing at the annual Texas Clerk’s Conference in 2012, sponsored by the V.G. Young Institute for County Government and Texas A & M AgriLife Extension. His firm currently offers litigation support to a network of attorneys across the United States. These workshops are being conducted for a limited time only! Seating is limited!
